Autumn Bliss

I walk through the autumn conquered woods
Besieged by the lovely array of golden tints
As the mist rises from an adjacent pond
The geese lift their heads from the fold of their wings
The crisp morning air arousing them from their dreams
The sun is still hidden behind the hills
But the early dawn-ridden hues
Have begun to warm the breadth of the newly-sprung horizon
Lost in this season bordering light and dark
I am propelled into blissful amity with the red, gold and blue…
Achieving enlightenment from this spectrum of colors
That radiates from the trees
As they contrast against the background of the brightening blue sky
The soft sound of the falling leaves lulls me into a fanciful state
My only desire
Is to remain here forever.
